Union Flag #2

The ‘Union flag’ was more complicated than first anticipated.

The initial idea seemed simple enough, but whilst researching I realised that keeping to the proportions laid down in the ‘Union Flag Act 2008’ was going to be impossible, unless I made it much larger than I wanted. Eventually I settled for a size of 450mm x 1350mm as this was the closest to maintaining the correct proportions.

Made with 1p coins encapsulated in clear epoxy resin with a burnt Meranti frame.
